![]() Making Sauce on a Sunday. 2007. charcoal, conte on gessoed paper. 22" x 30". $270 unframed (includes shipping throughout continental USA) This drawing is part of a series that depicts the actual kitchens of a variety of people. I asked participants to prearrange their kitchen in such a way that it could function as a portrait of themselves. This is the artist's kitchen, and thus functions as a self-portrait. Making tomato sauce is a ritual in the summer when the garden is producing. The tomatoes simmer in a pot on the stove while I enjoy a cup of tea and chop vegetables. |
