 My Sublime City. 2009. oil on gallery-wrap canvas. 40 1/4" wide x 36" high x 1 1/2" deep. $890 (includes shipping throughout continental USA) Cityscapes have been a recurring theme for me throughout my career. I tend to return to it when I need to refocus myself as a painter. I feel comfortable with the subject matter, which allows me to concentrate on the physicality of oil painting. After a long break from art making during my pregnancy and my son's first year of life, I find myself again exploring this familiar territory. This is the first painting completed in 2009 and the first in a series of similar subject matter. |
