Danielle
Boudet is a visual artist who works primarily in paint. Boudet’s
work has spanned diverse disciplines including painting, drawing, photography,
sculpture, and installation. Certain elements such as stylized objects,
architectural forms, and repetition recur in her work. Although her work
is often representational in nature, Boudet does not
consider herself to be a realist. She often combines elements of the real
with the abstract to explore more conceptual themes of spectacle,
fetish, and façade. Her work exists in numerous
private collections throughout Europe, the United States, and Canada.
Boudet was born in New Jersey, but grew up in Central
New York State. She received her Bachelor of Arts (98) from Hartwick
College in Oneonta, NY, and her Master of Fine Arts (02) from
the State University of New York at Buffalo. She began her professional
career in the Netherlands, where she lived in Leiden for two years before
returning to the United States to pursue an MFA. She currently
lives and works in Central New York.
